Horace Smith was a friend of Percy Shelley. They each wrote and submitted a sonnet on the same subject. Shelley's was published on January 11, 1818 under the pen name Glirastes, and Smith's was published on February 1, 1818 with the initials H.S.

Shelley's poem was mentioned in an earlier thread. I didn't see this one. I wonder if the Lost writers had read or known of this poem, and if so, what it had to do with the plot. Any thoughts or ideas?

you have all, or at least many of you, heard that tptb have implied or said that they do not intend to reveal what the island is. I believe there comment was something like, "no one ever asked what the force is."

i know many, myself included, are under the impression that we will never be told what is the island.

i wonder though how this is possible? if we get answers to dharma, RA, the others, won't that necessarily mean some answers about the island? even if all those people do not know what the island is, if we get answers about jacob and MiB, doesn't that mean answers about the island? does it sound plausible or possible to you that we get nothing?
